Construction:

The chest of drawers is not designed to be disassembled and consists of a single piece with drawers.

Condition:

Original antique in good, restored condition for its age. Even though it has been restored, it is still a piece that is around 200 years old and may therefore show signs of age. Pictures are part of the auction.

Antique Biedermeier half-cabinet from the period around 1830 to 1840. This type of furniture is characterized by clean lines and the emphasis on the natural wood grain.

Wood type: The cabinet features high-quality cherry veneer (saw-cut veneer) on a softwood frame.

Design: The front boasts a striking, mirrored veneer pattern (also known as beech or cross-grain), where the grain is symmetrically arranged.

Construction: The piece has a top drawer above two paneled doors. Inside, there are shelves for storage.

Hardware & Details: Original keyhole escutcheons made of bone and locks are present. The cabinet stands on turned baluster feet or simple block feet.

Finish: The surface is classically finished with a hand-applied shellac polish, which enhances the luster and depth of the wood. See less
