This element is a plaster sample from a workshop meant to show customers a specific design in its entirety or as one section of a larger design used in residential or commercial settings. Featuring a fluted urn shape with ornate scroll handles and decorative rim details, objects like this were historically used as architectural models, decorative elements, or as samples in workshops. It would make an important statement set into a wall, but is also an interesting piece of architectural sculpture on its own, used indoors or out.
