Fontan was a French illustrator whose career flourished in the early 20th century. He is best known for his work in La Vie Parisienne and Le Sourire magazines. His illustrations are often whimsical and have a sense of mischief and humor. This image feautres a scantily dressed woman with a flower on her shoulder who is eyeing her viewer. It is soft and gentle and showcases feminine beauty. It is subtle, playful, flirtatious and fun This image was a supplement insert in a magazine of the time. Such prints are now highly collectable; they are limited and more difficult to find with the passage of time. It is original to 1928 and NOT a recent reproduction print. Signed in the lithograph stone. Excellent, clean condition. Clean borders. The image is 8.5 x 12.25 inches in size. Lithograph measures 10.5 x 15 inclusive of border and documentation.
