Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the actual mirror glass is very distressed & there are some chips & cracks in the plaster that were touched up but we left the vintage worn patina alone as we like its character but it could easily be repaired, refinished & repainted if you choose. This is a FABULOUS… quite large, round wall mirror composed of a distressed off-white painted rather distinctive frame designed & characterized with large over lapping anthemion, acanthus leaves, or fabulous foliate, scrolls, & seashell motif details surrounding the mirror glass. Because of its beautifully distressed mirror surface it is more of a decorative piece than utilitarian, however, it would be stunning over a mantel in your entry way, above your bed, or it would be gorgeous on a wall above a console table or credenza in your dining area as it will still reflect the lighting in these areas & exude an elegant ambience. Serge Roche was a prominent 20th Century French designer known for his designs blending neo-baroque & Rococo opulence with modernism. He specialized in mirrors and frames instantly recognized for his use of white plaster, stucco, & mirrored glass often designed using shells, palm fronds, & other foliage. This spectacular sculptural mirror exudes refined luxury, versatility, and multiple décor styles including Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Hollywood Regency, or Neo Classic Revival, or French Baroque. “The world is a great mirror.
