Vintage 1960s Nichols & Stone "Hitchcock Style" Boston Rocker
A classic piece of mid-century Americana, this Boston Rocker was crafted by the legendary Nichols & Stone Co. of Gardner, MA. This "Governor Bradford" style rocker features an ebonized black finish with hand-stenciled gold harvest motifs on the crest rail. Built from solid northern hardwoods, it combines the sturdy structural integrity of a Windsor-style build with the refined aesthetics of the Hitchcock tradition. An authentic, labeled piece that brings over a century of Massachusetts furniture-making history into the modern home.

Good Vintage Condition. The chair is structurally excellent and provides a smooth, stable rock. The original 1960s-era maker's label is still firmly attached to the underside. The gold stenciling on the headrest is remarkably well-preserved. There is authentic, age-appropriate finish wear on the armrests and seat, consistent with its 60-year history.
A timeless and sturdy heirloom, ready to serve as a characterful accent in a nursery, library, or fireside nook.
