The top has a shallow routed step-down edge, chamfered at the front corners. An ogee molding pinned to the underside forms an attractive bold crown. The chamfer is repeated on the front corners of the case, which are otherwise devoid of any decoration. The top drawer is shallow and is trimmed with a molding to create a faux panel. The other three drawer fronts are plain and are of equal depth. The piece stands on a well-formed bracket foot which gives it its distinctly empire appearance. Hand-polished to a lovely warm honey glow. See less
