The Rose Medallion design is one of the most recognizable Chinese export porcelain patterns, characterized by vibrant enamel decoration with alternating panels depicting traditional court figures, birds, and floral motifs in shades of pink, green, and gold.

This large collection was inherited from my great-grandmother, who lived in San Francisco. According to family history, she acquired the pieces many years ago from the estate sale of a Chinese household. The collection appears to have been assembled over time and includes a wide variety of forms used for dining and serving.

The set includes dinner plates, bowls, tea cups, lidded bowls, serving platters, condiment dishes, porcelain soup spoons, teaware, and decorative serving pieces. The vibrant hand-painted decoration and large number of pieces make this collection especially striking for display or entertaining.

Rose Medallion porcelain has been produced in China for export since the late 19th century and remains highly sought after by collectors of Chinese export ceramics.
