Wonderful Early to Mid-20th Century pair of Vintage English & Art Deco style wardrobes, armoires, or storage cabinets composed of … Read more Wonderful Early to Mid-20th Century pair of Vintage English & Art Deco style wardrobes, armoires, or storage cabinets composed of burled maple frames, walnut top corners & edge details. The larger has 3 hanging bars, two fixed wood shelves, & metal hooks. The smaller cabinet has 1 off-center hanging bar, 3 fixed wood shelves on the left side & both cabinets have cast pot metal hardware with keys. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that they are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if they have been refinished or restored. Specifically, there are some small imperfections due to age but nothing major. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. No need to adjust your eyes… You are SORT OF seeing double!!! We’ll call them… Fraternal twins!!! LOL!!! This is a FABULOUS pair of wardrobes, armoires, or storage cabinets each composed of a BEAUTIFUL burled maple frame featuring wonderful walnut top corners & eye-catching edge detail. They bear incredible clean lines constructed of a single center door with an arched top, a charming cast pot metal escutcheon & hardware pull, & a keyhole with a functioning key. And while they look almost identical on the outside… aside from the obvious vertical or height difference… they are slightly different on the inside. Let’s talk about the “insides” of the larger cabinet first. Behind the door you will find a HUGE open storage area hosting a front to back hanging bar, metal hooks, AND a back to front hanging bar with a single wood shelf above on each side. Behind the door of the shorter cabinet, you will find a small metal towel bar for hanging scarves, belts, or whatever you are putting on. It also has a spacious open storage area hosting a front to back hanging bar just a bit off center, three fixed wood shelves to the left and open space to the right. You could easily add more hooks, bars, or shelves to both cabinets at some point if you would like or… whatever additions necessary to meet your personal needs. The hanging bars are not equipped to hold those heavy mink coats or manly Carhart over-all’s but they will work great for intimates & lighter clothing. There is a “BSI” tag behind each door… That simply stands for “British Standards Institution” & it’s a kitemark indicating it met specific quality standards at the time of manufacture. And although we may not have a specific makers name on these beauties, they absolutely BURST with an EXCELLENT Vintage English Art Deco & Art Nouveau style sure to elevate whatever space they occupy. They would serve PERFECTLY together in your bedroom or dressing areas utilized as a pair of “his & hers” armoires or wardrobes or separate them & use one in a hall or bathroom & fill it with linens and towels and use the other one in your family or game room & fill it with media supplies & board games. Or, maybe add those additional shelves we talked about earlier and fill one with books, file boxes, and other supplies in your home office. Possibilities are as limited as your imagination!! These magnificent cabinets are highly functional, very versatile, and bear a timeless presence you are sure to love for years to come. So, you decide… call them armoires, call them wardrobes, or call them storage cabinets… but whatever you choose to call these incredible pieces… Double your cabinet pleasure, and call them YOURS!!!!
