American Eastlake Victorian footstool from the 1880-90s in ebonized oak with a deep black finish. Newly upholstered in Pierre Frey Majestic fabric with a tribal-inspired geometric pattern.
The base reflects Asian-inspired or Chinoiserie design, with a high-gloss black lacquer finish and decorative scalloped feet. The combination of the dark lacquer and curved feet gives the piece a formal, traditional aesthetic while maintaining the clean, rectangular structure typical of Eastlake furniture.
