Bronze steel finish. A true icon of 1960s design, the platner armchair is one of the most emblematic pieces of american modernism. Its sculptural base, composed of dozens of precisely welded steel rods, forms an airy and graphic cylindrical base. This wire structure, which has become the signature of the platner collection, captures the light and gives the chair an elegant and architectural presence. The wide, enveloping seat, generously upholstered, offers exceptional comfort. The contrast between the slender steel base and the soft cushion creates a perfect balance between design and comfort. Our model is an authentic first edition knoll from 1974, with its original invoice dated may 28, 1974. The store still exists. It does not have a stamp, but this was common for that era. The zipper is made of brass by spider, typical of knoll products from the 1970s. We wanted to present it to you in its original condition without restoration. The steel structure has been checked and is in excellent condition. The lilac fabric and frame are entirely original. The fabric therefore shows signs of wear and tear consistent with its age.
