Henry Charles Gerard (1846-1897) created this Paris etching “ Boulevard Clichy” in the early 1890’s.
He was a French painter and printmaker who studied at the Ecole Nationale Superievere de Beaux Arts, Paris.
He was a friend of Manet and posed for Manet’s painting “At the Cafe”
Living near Honfleur he entertained many artists including Cezanne
In 1893 he was awarded a Knight of the Legion of
Honor
