I've added yet another wildlife-inspired piece to my Maitland-Smith menagerie, this time a center table with three gleaming silver lions … Read more I've added yet another wildlife-inspired piece to my Maitland-Smith menagerie, this time a center table with three gleaming silver lions as the base. The lions are carved from wood and are embellished with a layer of silver paint that positively glowed in the sunshine as I photographed them. The top is covered in a veneer that resembles tortoiseshell. Above each lion's head is a metal rosette mounted on the side of the top. The tripod base rests on bun feet. As a vintage table, there are a few condition issues that I need to point out. There is a crack in the veneer on one side of the base (refer to picture 11). The veneer is still all present, but it has come up from the base. There is also a small chip in the veneer on the base (refer to picture 12). The faux tortoiseshell top is in good condition, but it has a bit of wear on the edge (refer to picture 13). The manufacturer's label is affixed to the underside of the table top (refer to picture 17).

I photographed this table outside on a sunny afternoon in February. It will invariably look different when viewed in an interior setting under artificial light. Please take this into consideration when matching colors.
