Richard Diebenkorn Rare Vintage Abstract Expressionist Large Lithograph Print With Original Frame Museum Poster ‘Ocean Park No. 70’ 1974. Richard Diebenkorn ( 1922 - 1993 ) American Painter whose Early Work Was Associated with Abstract Expressionism & The Bay Area Figurative Movement of the 1950's & 1960's. His Art was Influenced by Important Artists Such as Clyfford Still, Willem De Kooning, Arshile Gorky, and Henri Matisse. Described as One of the Premier American Painters of the Postwar Era, Diebenkorn's Deeply Lyrical Abstractions Evoked the Shimmering Light and Wide Open Spaces of California, Where He Spent Virtually His Entire Life. In 1966, Diebenkorn took a teaching position at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1967, he began his most famous series of paintings, the Ocean Park series, which comprised roughly 135 large-scale abstract oil works painted over an 18-year period. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., and the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco, among others. This Rare, Out of Print Large Format Museum Poster was Published by Museum Editions West, Santa Monica, California, in 1974 in an Unnumbered Limited Edition for the Des Moines Art Center Museum.
