Introducing the Lucía Landa Collection's "Desperado Eastlake" furniture! One also might call it "Custer's Last Seating." The last pictures in this listing shows some other "Desperado Eastlake" pieces available in our collection.
Named after an English architect, the Eastlake style of American furniture flourished from the 1870s to the 1890s. This simplified style represented the last gasp of Victorian furniture design, before its replacement by Gustav Stickley's "Craftsman" and "Mission" styles.
A lot of Eastlake furniture still exists, gathering dust. I've decided to create a new design line reupholstering Eastlake seating with dramatic hair-on-hide cowskin and gently faded blue denim. It's in part a tribute to my grandfather, born when Eastlake furniture was in vogue in 1895, who owned cattle ranches and leather tanneries in the state of Jalisco, Mexico.
