The piece was made from a Holland Mold ceramic mold, a popular line of hobbyist molds widely used in the mid-20th century, particularly from the 1950s through the 1970s. The design combines a glossy deep green ashtray with an applied mermaid figure, hand-painted with warm gold luster detailing and classic bathing-beauty styling.
