The Marbro Lamp Company was established in Los Angeles by the brothers Markoff shortly after World War II. The parts for these lamps were sourced all over the world (Italy comes to mind), but the lamps themselves were assembled in the LA shop.
In 1987 the company was bought by the Masco Corp. but the assemblage continued in Los Angeles until the plant was finally closed in 1990.
This very large table lamp has an extraordinary turquoise blue color and is finished in gold details. The ceramic part of the lamp is made of 2 separate pieces on a gilded pedestal.
Stunning lamp with a height of 45”, a statement piece from the early period of the Marbro start-up.
