Padded and tightly upholstered with muslin back and gimp trim. Headboards have 1" thick foam and padded (overlaid) with batting. Ships in one box and comes in 1 piece; some assembly required. Holes are not pre-drilled to allow fit with any bedframe. Spot clean.
