Indeed, this entire composition of this antique Malayer carpet is characterized by the complex nature of its detail work. The six beautifully worked and intriguingly proportioned borders give the carpet a unique quality: for while the entire antique carpet is riddled with beautiful detail work, the eye is still drawn toward these borders and the central medallion.
