The 1st and only known edition lithograph print Pop Art poster is published by Te Neues Publishing Company, printed in 1996 in Germany in an unnumbered limited edition with the authorized licensed rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1981 titled " Superman ". The official " AW " Foundation seal of authenticity is printed on the poster in two places.

Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.

Warhol's Superman is from the " Myths " series of artworks created in 1981 that exemplifies his nostalgia for America's past, and love of his heroic childhood idols. As a child he found comfort in Superman comics - an unlikely hero he idolized.

The rare out of print Pop Art poster measures 23 1/2" W X 35 1/2" H. It is printed in high quality heavyweight paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish.
