Effortless beauty, this hand knotted wool antique Persian Bibikabad rug is poised to impress. The abrashed light pink field features a large-scale diamond lozenge decorated with an all-over Herati pattern and anchored with ram's horn pendants at either end. Navy blue corner spandrels echo the Herati design. The Classic Herati pattern, also known as the Mahi or Fish pattern, is amongst the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. It is enclosed with a meandering floral border flanked with an inner and outer carnation meander guard band. Rendered in variegated shades of light pink, navy blue, rose, cerulean, tan, sand, ecru, sky blue, taupe, brown, gray, and green with other accent colors. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran.
