This is a very fine example of Bizen-Yaki earthenware pottery that is loved for its rustic color, quality, and imperfections that are a reflection of the natural world.
The glaze drips are created randomly from the lid of the kiln during the firing. The clay is from around the Bizen province.
This wonderful vase was bought in Japan in the early 1980s.
