Pair of original engravings of Red-crested Cardinal Barbet Bird Butterfly Passionflower by Jean Théodore Descourtilz, 1834. Published from the "shining birds of Brazil". Descourtilz was a French naturalist, painter and illustrator, the son of botanist Michel Étienne Descourtilz.
Custom framed in a gold wood frame, white linen mat and gold inner fillet. In excellent condition, some foxing. Dimensions: 32” x 17.5" (pair) and 14" x 17.5” (each)
