From the original brochure...."DESCRIPTION OF THE MATERIALS USED AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FURNITURE.....block mahogany wood (multi-layers covered in mahogany)--dovetail---real slatted shutters with protection against dust--handles, angles, and hinges in cast brass treated with anti oxidizer, particularly resistant paints"........."this serious piece of naval furniture is destined to become an antique. But rebuilding on the original models is done seriously only if the original criteria are also retraced. La Vecchia Marina follows this route and is among the chief operators in the world in this field. Since space is a necessity of life, the intelligent construction concept of this furniture allows integral use of it, at the same time offering unlimited possibilities for decor. As a guarantee of authenticity, burned in red into every piece of furniture is the trademark"

This is a 40+ year old piece, and as such, it shows the normal wear that a piece of this age would show. The sides, mostly the left side, have some very thin separations on the veneer, making it almost look like wood grain (image #12). A removable glass top was made at some point to protect the top, and will be included with purchase. See less
