This is an elegant vintage Wedgwood Jasperware heart-shaped trinket box, finished in the classic matte "Wedgwood blue" with white bas-relief neoclassical figures. The scene depicted on top of the lid is that of the Sacrifice of Asclepius. The marking on the bottom of the box is "Wedgwood Made in England." The iconic unglazed, dense stoneware known as Jasperware first debuted in 1774.
