this piece exemplifies the iconic work of léon elchinger, a major figure in early 20th-century alsatian ceramic art. The vertical geometric decoration, composed of stylized motifs in petrol blue, ivory, and orange accents, is fully in keeping with the art deco aesthetic of the 1920s. The rhythmic composition and slender silhouette give the vase an architectural and elegant presence.

the glaze displays a slight, aged crackle finish consistent with the period of manufacture. The monogram le is present on the base.
