Each piece rests on a square bronze base decorated with laurel leaves, surmounted by a very elegant fluted foot.

The ovoid alabaster body, with its warm veins ranging from honey to amber brown, offers a striking contrast to the bronze mount.

The distinctive feature of this pair lies in its sculpted handles: two delicately modeled young tritons in the round, seemingly supporting the openwork gallery at the top. This mythological motif lends considerable movement and refinement to the whole.

Highly decorative, these cassolettes can be displayed individually, as a centerpiece, or on a sideboard, and also make magnificent objects for a cabinet of curiosities.

Beautiful original patina. Minor signs of wear consistent with age.
