It was designed … Read more An early 20th Century cast iron shooting target from Coney Island in a form of a lion. It was designed by William F. Mangels Co.*. The last one to come on the market was in 2022 sold without its stand for $500. Please note that the front extending leg is broken off. What we especially love about this one is its patina. It'll make a great addition to any serious shooting target collection, or coney island, amusement part, carnival, or fairground ones.

*William F. Mangels (1 February 1866[1]–11 February 1958) was an amusement manufacturer and inventor. He worked at Coney Island and was a major player in the development of American amusement parks at the start of the 20th century. In addition to manufacturing carousels and inventing rides, including The Whip, he wrote a book titled The Outdoor Amusement Industry: From Earliest Times to the Present —Wikipedia
