This antique Edward Miller table lamp dates to 1850-1920s, and features beautifully marbled green and custard slag glass panels set within an ornate cast metal shade frame. The underside of the base is marked E.M. Co., so we know that this is one of his earlier designs prior to the company being called Miller Lamp Company. The model number, 1109, suggests it was made closer to the late 1800-early 1910s. The slag glass panels display wonderful natural variation in tones of soft green, warm custard, and caramel marbling. When illuminated, the glass produces a rich warm glow characteristic of early slag glass lighting. The cast metal base features elegant fluted detailing and a heavily ornamented foot with stylized botanical motifs. The shade frame incorporates flowing floral elements and scrollwork consistent with Art Nouveau–influenced American lighting of the period.
This is a beautifully preserved example of early American electric lighting with excellent color and strong decorative presence.

Very good antique condition. The lamp is structurally sound and functions properly with working pull-chain switch. The cast metal retains a pleasing aged patina with minor wear consistent with age. The slag glass panels are intact with no visible cracks or losses. There are a few small losses to the delicate cast metal ornamentation on the shade frame, typical of early 20th century lamps, which do not affect the stability or overall presentation. See detailed photos. Cord appears to be a later replacement.
