This striking Art Deco vase, attributed to Curt Schlevogt, exemplifies the sculptural elegance and modernist refinement of Bohemian glass design in the 1930s. Rendered in a vivid malachite-green opaque glass, the piece features a glossy, jade-like surface that evokes carved stone while maintaining the luminous depth unique to pressed glass.
The vase’s body is richly modeled with a high-relief motif of three stylized female figures arranged in a circular embrace, their elongated forms and flowing hair characteristic of the Art Deco fascination with harmony, movement, and idealized beauty. They appear to gather fruit or blossoms at the center, symbolizing abundance and unity. Above, a faceted collar transitions to a flared rim, while the stepped base provides architectural balance and stability.
Often associated with the Ingrid pattern line produced by Curt Schlevogt’s Gablonz (Jablonec) workshops in Czechoslovakia, this vase reflects the period’s interest in neoclassical themes interpreted through modern geometric stylization.

About the artist :
Curt Schlevogt (1889–1945) was a prominent Bohemian glass designer and manufacturer based in Gablonz an der Neiße (now Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic). He founded the Ingrid glassworks in the late 1920s, named after his daughter, and became known for producing striking pressed glass objects in the Art Deco style.
Schlevogt’s designs often featured sculptural figural motifs, geometric forms, and richly colored opaque glass—especially his signature malachite green—created to imitate carved jade and other luxury hardstones. His work combined artistic refinement with innovative industrial techniques, making decorative art glass accessible while maintaining a high-end aesthetic.
Today, Curt Schlevogt pieces are prized by collectors for their bold color, elegant relief decoration, and iconic Art Deco character.
