The design dates back to the 1950s … Read more These 3221 chairs were designed by junzo sakakura and manufactured by tendo mokko. The design dates back to the 1950s and was revived in the 1980s. The chairs exhibit a clear, modernist design language with a distinctly japanese character: minimalist, balanced, and organic. The four-legged frame supports a gently curved seat and a softly rounded backrest that ergonomically conforms to the body. The construction appears sculptural and light, yet remains stable and precisely executed. Made of solid beechwood, the chairs combine western modernism with japanese craftsmanship and reflect sakakura's close collaboration with le corbusier as well as his own architectural style.

condition: good to very good condition with minor signs of age-related wear. The surfaces are well-maintained, and the construction is sound.
