These are the largest plates from the series, featuring the celebrated Medusa head at the center, surrounded by elaborate baroque-inspired scrollwork in deep black and rich red, enhanced with extensive gilt detailing. The composition reflects Versace’s signature fusion of classical antiquity and bold neoclassical luxury.
The plates are made of fine Rosenthal porcelain and were intended primarily for decorative display rather than everyday use, which is confirmed by their outstanding state of preservation.
Eleven plates are in pristine condition with no scratches or wear to the glaze on either side. One plate shows a small, non-penetrating hairline crack on the reverse side only. This defect is not visible from the front and is consistent with a manufacturing flaw rather than later damage.
A highly impressive and decorative set, ideal for collectors of Versace homeware or statement interior displays.
