We are selling this very large carved Renaissance style figure. We believe this figure to most likely be Eve as … Read more We are selling this very large carved Renaissance style figure. We believe this figure to most likely be Eve as she is standing on a serpent with an apple although her appearance and clothing is more often associated with the Madonna or the Virgin Mary. The large carving appears to be carved from fruitwood or some kind of dense soft wood, possibly boxwood but not quite right. We believe that the figure is Italian in origin and probably 17th or 18th century.

Condition: There is some surface wear on the figure. Hands have damages and may have been replaced, damages at the base to the serpent with old repairs.
