With a spread eagle at the top, DAR insignias on either side and the crossed sword and Liberty Cap at the bottom, this platter has all the patriotic trimmings. Historic Staffordshire platters were popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This rare platter is in great condition for its age, with only a minor chip on the rear edge. A small imperfection appears next to the eagle but this occurred during firing of the platter. Impressed on the underside "England". A rare survivor and a must have for any collector of important blue and white. See less
