A beautifully crafted cylinder music box, a popular form of mechanical musical entertainment from the late 18th through the early 20th century. These intricate instruments operate with a rotating cylinder fitted with tiny pins that pluck tuned metal teeth on a comb to produce melodies. Many of the finest examples were made in Geneva, where Swiss artisans became renowned for their precision engineering and decorative wooden cases, often enhanced with inlay or painted details.
