This striking poster design by celebrated Italian illustrator Marcello Dudovich exemplifies the elegance and sophistication of early 20th-century European advertising art.
Created to promote Martini & Rossi’s Vermouth Bianco, the composition features a glamorous woman dressed entirely in white, seated gracefully against a deep black background. She wears a sweeping wide-brimmed hat and long gloves while delicately holding a glass of vermouth, embodying refinement, leisure, and cosmopolitan style.
Dudovich’s masterful use of contrast — luminous whites against dramatic black — creates a bold visual impact, while the flowing lines and poised figure reflect the influence of Art Nouveau transitioning into early Art Deco aesthetics.
The graceful typography arches above the figure, while the iconic MARTINI & ROSSI TORINO branding anchors the composition below, making this poster both a decorative statement and an iconic piece of beverage advertising history.
