Arms was America's foremost architectural etcher, celebrated for his extraordinary technical virtuosity and exquisite detail. This demonstration plate was drawn, etched and printed at the Library of Congress for the benefit of the Pennell Fund, making it a significant institutional piece. Arms studied architecture at Princeton and MIT, and his works are held in major museum collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Cleveland Museum of Art. Framed in striking black and white checkered border frame that echoes the floor pattern in the etching. See less
