This small-sized chest from Italy has a unique reverse break front design, which continues from the top, down the front of each of the three recessed panel drawer fronts, continues down the apron. There is decorative banding about the top, drawer fronts, and each side. A thickly molded skirting surrounds the bottom on three side, and the chest is raised on bracket style feet. This 19th century Italian chest is the perfect piece where a smaller sized case piece is needed; perhaps functioning as a nightstand, or used as an end table with storage next to your favorite reading chair.
