This … Read more An Italian Baroque large-sized, two-toned, chest of three drawers, with ornately carved drawer fronts, from the early 18th century. This antique commode from Italy has an overhanging rectangular-shaped top, above the case which houses three generously-sized, relief-carved drawers; each adorn in a rocaille and coquilles motif. Each case side has a raised six panel design, the skirting and side posts are clean/linear, and it is raised upon four squared legs (an extension from the side posts). This piece is exquisitely rustic and full of character with its old patina and top that shows wear and some warping; a reflection of the history and age of this piece. There is a two-tone finish with top and drawer fronts being darker than the case/body. There is plentiful storage within this good-sized chest! This Italian period Baroque chest of drawers, with robust size of approximately 6.4 feet in length and 4 feet in height, gives it a large presence that makes it a stand out piece of furniture!
