Unger Brothers (1872–1910) was a renowned Newark, New Jersey-based manufacturer celebrated for high-quality Art Nouveau sterling silver jewelry, vanity items, and flatware. Known for their intricate, dramatic designs featuring floral motifs, and mythological figures, their work is the definition of American Art Nouveau and highly collectible. Unger Bros. work can be found in the Brooklyn Museum, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Newark Museum.

The Douvaine pattern shows dolphin heads, mythological masks, and flowing stylized floral lines particular to Art Nouveau.
The tongs have claw-like grippers for collecting sugar cubes.
Engraved on the outer top handle with the initial G.
