Beautiful Antique English High Ladder Back Rush Seat Side Chair, c. Late 19th Century. This piece features intricate decorative details with five elegantly curved slats, turned posts and front stretcher and woven rush seats. The wood is finished in a versatile and striking dark brown / black tone that contrasts nicely with the rush seat and has developed a lovely patina over time. The seat is generously sized and comfortable.

Condition: Great antique condition. Wear consistent with age and use. Surface wear to wood and rush seat. Upon close inspection, there is some texturing of the wood finish throughout the piece which is not cracking or flaking. Please see photos.
