Fresh from a New York City mansion estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this awesome RARE Museum quality … Read more Fresh from a New York City mansion estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this awesome RARE Museum quality Antique French Early 19th century Empire "Aux Griffons" Round Marble Top Center Table. Period Empire directoire style beauty, featuring a beautiful combination of wood colors, a light mahogany on horizontal parts, and ebonized black on vertical legs, combination later adopted by Biedermeier style. Along the wood we have a pair of rare (dark gray to black) Belgium granite marbles, one large curved edge dish-top marble on the top, and an inset marble below, which serves as the centerpiece of the stretcher that connects the legs, making it a safe plant pedestal stand. Great quality, rare period Napoleonic made piece devoid of bronze mounts, good for use and looks to die for! Table stands on 3 tall ebonized curved legs, having griffon heads (similar to birds / eagles) carved on the top, and claw feet on the bottom. Good condition, minimal age / use wear for 200 years of age (please see photos). Table is large and impressive 32" x 32" diameter wide, and it is 28.5" in height. Spectacular investment piece, great for any traditional or vintage mid-century modern setting! See less
