The item is an Antique Original in Excellent condition.
A beautiful, large antique Japanese porcelain charger from the Edo period (1603-1867). This piece features hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration in the Arita ware style, depicting a classic "rooster and hen" scene in a natural landscape. The charger has a unique scalloped and tapered rim. The age is listed as "Pre-1800", and the base features characteristic seven spur marks, a traditional firing technique used in Japanese porcelain production from the 17th to mid-19th century.
This impressive 19-inch diameter platter is an excellent example of Japanese antique artistry and a superb display piece for a collector or interior designer.
