An absolutely stunning carved and giltwood frame. The frame is attributable to 18th century Italy, with a likely Venetian origin. While it resembles French frames of a similar period, the work and style are almost certainly Italian in origin. This is a genuine piece of framing history and is absolutely beautiful. An old master painting, or even an Impressionist masterpiece, would be right at home surrounded by this master frame work.
