Commanding in scale and graceful in form, this vintage Czechoslovakian porcelain Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) is a masterpiece of Art Deco-era minimalism.
Handcrafted circa 1940, the figurine captures the breed's aristocratic silhouette through an all-white, high-gloss glaze that emphasizes its elegant proportions rather than relying on painted color.
The sculptural quality is extraordinary, from the intricate texture of the "fur" to the alert, noble expression. Standing a full 9" tall and extending 13" in length, its slender profile (just 2" wide) makes it an ideal statement piece for a narrow mantel, console, or bookshelf.
It is in excellent condition, and it is stamped "Made in Czechoslovakia" on its underside.
