An incredible pair of oversized heavily carved bombe style French Provincial commodes by Century.
The commodes feature 2 oversized drawers with an extremely thick wood surround. They are very heavy chests and so well made.
The commodes have a pretty curved bombe style front which are hallmarks of Baroque or Rococo designs.
The front drawers are heavily carved with C-scrolls, ribbon like designs and pieced elegant apron front. The sides flare outwardly with curvy legs at the bottom. The brass handles are original with a curved leaf design.
They're incredible solid wood pieces and would make for elegant statement pieces flanking a fireplace in a living room, or on either side of a large bedroom as oversized nightstands.
