A magnificent, large-scale serving tureen from the world-renowned Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM) Berlin. This piece features the iconic "Neuosier" pattern, a masterful Rococo design by Friedrich Elias Meyer defined by an intricate embossed basketweave (wickerwork) banded relief on the body and lid, complemented by naturalistic hand-molded branch-and-berry handles and a matching lid finial.
Dating to the early 19th century (circa 1800–1837), this tureen bears the authentic hand-painted underglaze blue sceptre mark and the impressed "moulder's mark" JMB, identifying the specific craftsman who hand-formed the piece and "4" referring to its size. Presented in its original, classic Blanc de Chine (white) glaze, it highlights the purity and architectural detail of the Neuosier relief without the distraction of later decoration.
With its generous scale and refined modeling this piece would have served as a centerpiece for formal dining and today makes an elegant decorative or functional accent for traditional, transitional, or European-inspired interiors.
Previous owner added protective felt pads, which can be removed, to the base to prevent surface wear.

Factory Designation: The blue sceptre mark features a factory-applied grinding mark (Schleifstrich), indicating it was originally designated as a "second" by the Royal Factory. Authenticity Marks: The glaze features charming, period-correct "pepper spot" iron inclusions (notably on one handle and the body) and minor pinholing, which are characteristic "birthmarks" of early 19th-century KPM production. Fit: The lid is original to the base and exhibits a slight, period-correct "play" (minor movement) when seated, consistent with early hand-molded porcelain of this scale. Base: The base retains protective green felt pads from a previous estate; these have been left intact to preserve the delicate, naturally aged foot rim. less
