This is a fantastic chair! The back of the chair is pierced and is absolutely stunning and curvaceous. The center splat is reminiscent of a violin in its gracefulness and detail. The arms are supported on lovely hand turned arm supports and measure 27.5 inches in height. The seat of the chair is also shaped for added dimension, and the walnut frame for the seat is serpentine and has so much detail. Just a gorgeous piece to admire the craftsmanship of the 18th century.

The chair is supported on cabriole legs, terminating in horse hoof feet, and joined by serpentined stretchers.

This piece came out of a well-known antique dealers collection in the 1990's and has been in the family since then. See less
