This is a rare and whimsical mid-century treasure for the discerning dog lover or art pottery collector.
Designed by Royal Haeger’s legendary lead designer Eric Olsen, this "Bunch O' Collie Pups" figurine (Model R782) features three rough-coated collie puppies huddled together in a charming, playful pose.
While most examples of this 1940s design are found in yellow or amber tones, this piece is rendered in a stunning, high-gloss "Ebony Black" glaze. The mirror-like finish accentuates the sculptural details of the pups' fur and expressive faces. As the rarest colorway of this specific design, this figurine is an essential "investment-grade" addition to any Haeger or canine-themed collection.
They were issued in 1941 and retired in 1969.
This rare mid-century dog figurine is in excellent condition. Please note that any white "spots" in the photos are due to the camera.
They measure a full 5 3/4" tall x 8 1/4" long x 7 1/4" wide.
