The rectangular case is fitted with two deep drawers, each carved with a bold diamond pattern, a defining decorative motif of Louis XIII furniture that emphasizes structure, symmetry, and restrained ornament.
The chest is constructed from solid walnut and retains a warm, richly patinated surface with visible tool marks and age-related wear that contribute to its authentic character. The drawers are fitted with original forged iron pulls mounted on diamond-shaped backplates, reinforcing the geometric rhythm of the façade. A thick, substantial plank top with softly worn edges crowns the piece, underscoring its robust, early-inspired design.
Raised on turned legs joined by a full peripheral stretcher, the chest offers excellent stability and visual weight, hallmarks of Louis XIII–style furniture.
