The exterior is densely decorated in a rich underglaze blue with a repeating "Boys Among Peony Scrolls" motif, a traditional symbol representing the wish for many sons and a prosperous lineage. The playful figures of children, or yitong, are rendered with simple, fluid lines, shown climbing and resting amidst a thick, rhythmic tangle of scrolling vines and lush peony blossoms.

Pattern: The "karakusa" style scrolling foliage covers nearly every inch of the vessel, a style often associated with 19th-century provincial ware or earlier export styles.

Base: The unglazed, flat foot rim reveals a pale, compact clay body, showing some age-related discoloration and kiln grit typical of hand-poured ceramics.

Condition: Visible structural issues are present, specifically a significant star crack and several branching hairline fractures on the interior of the flared rim, as well as some minor pitting and glaze imperfections across the body.
